In 1992, China was approved for use in oils and fats, dried fish products, biscuits, instant noodles, canned foods, and preserved meat products. The maximum allowable amount of TBHQ in food is 200 mg/kg. The United States stipulates that TBHQ alone or in combination with BHA and BHT should be used in an amount of 0.02% or less.
